Broadhempston, a treasure of a village with very little traffic, no street lamps (so look out for a sky full of stars on clear nights), a primary school, ancient church, community shop and two thriving pubs, is a great place for a relaxed amble. Yet it's within a few miles of the exquisite South Devon coast, the wilds of Dartmoor, the spectacularly beautiful River Dart, the Elizabethan transition town of Totnes and the bright lights of Torquay, Plymouth and Exeter. Just three miles away is Dartington Hall with its renowned annual music and literature festivals, and there are countless entertainment centres for all the family within easy driving distance.
